Palliative Care
Specialized medical care for patients facing serious illness
Specialized medical care for patients facing serious illness
Palliative care is specialized medical care for patients facing serious or life threatening illness. This type of care is focused on providing patients with relief from the symptoms, pain and stress of a serious illness. The goal is to improve quality of life for both patient and family.
Palliative care is appropriate at any age and at any stage in a serious illness, and can be provided together with curative treatment. Palliative care is not hospice care. Although hospice and end-of-life programs often include palliative care, this service is not just for the terminally ill.
Our team consists of a certified palliative care nurse, a board certified physician and nurse practitioner, a chaplain, Social Work, pharmacists and a dietician.
